Suprasorb® X +PHMB is a versatile 2-in-1 moisture balance wound dressing designed for the treatment of infected and at-risk superficial and deep wounds with low to moderate exudate. It effectively absorbs excess exudate from the wound while releasing moisture in areas with less exudate, maintaining an optimal healing environment.
Indications
- For infected or at-risk wounds Chronic wounds:

- Postoperative wounds, abrasions/lacerations, second-degree burns, skin grafts, donor sites

Instructions for Use
- Before removing the transparent protective film, cut Suprasorb® X +PHMB to the desired size, leaving a margin of approximately 2-3 cm around the wound edge.
- Apply the dressing directly to the wound bed.
- Use a suitable secondary dressing (Suprasorb® F) to secure Suprasorb® X +PHMB on the wound.

Precautions
- If the dressing begins to dry, moisten it for at least 10 minutes before removal.
- Do not reuse Suprasorb® X +PHMB.
- Not suitable for wounds with exposed cartilage.
- Do not use on third-degree burns.
- Avoid use if there is known sensitivity to any component of Suprasorb® X +PHMB.

When should the dressing be changed?
Change the dressing when the moist area reduces to a safety margin of 1 cm from the wound edge.
What should I do if the dressing becomes too dry and sticks to the wound?
Moisten the dressing thoroughly with saline or another wound irrigation solution for at least 10 minutes, then gently remove it. (This will not affect the wound.)
Which secondary dressing is recommended to cover Suprasorb® X +PHMB?
Transparent film (Suprasorb® F) or foam dressing (Suprasorb® P Sensitive).
Will the secondary dressing absorb moisture from Suprasorb® X +PHMB, reducing its moisture balance effect on the wound?
The moisture balance effect of Suprasorb® X +PHMB is not affected by the type of secondary dressing used. However, if conventional gauze is used as a secondary dressing, it may affect the moisture balance because conventional gauze can absorb the moisture provided by Suprasorb® X +PHMB.
Can Suprasorb® X +PHMB be cut?
Yes, it is easier to cut before removing the film.
What is polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB)?
PHMB is polyhexamethylene biguanide, a synthetically produced antimicrobial agent effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and viruses without affecting healthy human cells.
When should Suprasorb® X +PHMB be used?
When there is a poor response to silver (Ag) or when the risk of infection is high.
